Five Interesting Restaurants to Try in Nashville

By Emily Graham

Nashville has always been a city that boasts an incredible variety of restaurants and foods, with eight chefs from the city being semifinalists for the James Beard Award, which recognizes exceptional talent within the culinary arts. There have been many celebrities, including Dierks Bentley, Blake Shelton, and Gavin Degraw that have opened restaurants and bars around Nashville’s downtown area. Nashville has also been featured many times in popular television shows such as Diners, Drive-in, and Dives, Man vs. Food, and Iron Chef Eats. This story features a list of five restaurants that have been showcased on hundreds of travel and food blogs about Nashville

Bastion, located at 434 Houston Street, has been described by many as a choose-your-own adventure foodie dreamland. The small restaurant is hidden behind a nondescript door, and only boasts 24 seats, plus a large bar right next door. They offer a six course dinner and an ever-evolving menu, as it is based on chef inspiration and product availability. The restaurant is only open from Wednesday to Saturday starting at 5:30pm, but their bar is open 7 days a week from 5pm to midnight. Due to the small availability of seats, Bastion is a reservation-only 21 and over experience.
